The Commune of Tramunta, also called Communa de Trasmontana in Tramuntan, is a democratic Communalist republic located into the continent of Lusitierra. It was born in 1230, when a group of republics decided to be united to avoid to be conquered by any other country. It was an feudal regime during five centuries but then, became a democracy as the chief of the State decided to give more freedom to the people.

History

The history of Tramunta during prehistorical times is absolutely unknown. The oldest proves of the Tramuntan civilization comes from the Second century. At that time, the Tramuntan civilization was constituted of many villages always at war ; then, in the sixth centuries, all the conflicts ended and the villages (which became cities) started to have many commercial and political relationships.

The Unification

In 1225, the region was very wealthy thanks to commercial relationships between the villages but the fear of an attack from the neighborhood became larger as the time passed. That is why, in 1229, the fourteen villages start to negotiate to create one unified country. On March, the 5th 1230, they declare the Kingdom of Tramunta and establish a feudal system, with, at the head of each ex-village, a Lord, who elect a King, who becomes the King of Tramunta.

The King Federic the 1st is elected by the Lords on June the 4th 1230 and is crowned on June the 22nd of June the same year. The Feudal system is installed, and will stay quite a long moment.

The end of the Kingdom

In 1969, the King Fidel the 3rd decided to abolish the Feudal system after several vained revolts, and sets a Parliamentary Monarchy, but giving the right to vote only to wealthy people with a tax payed by the wealthiest persons, giving the right to vote. Not happy of that, poor peasants try another revolt, more violent than ever (approximately 200 dead and 450 hurt persons). The King abdicates and try to give the power to his son, but middle class leaders has already declared the Republic of Tramunta. Elections are organized with Universal suffrage, and after a violent campaign, the Republicans win the elections, winning 135 seats out of 216 of the Constitutional house installed. They write and vote the Constitution, proclaiming the United Republic, giving the right to vote to the aristocracy only.

The beginning of the Commune

The people of La Carrasca was not happy of that type of Government, so on the 26th of March 1971, they proclame themselves as the Commune, establishing a sort of Communalism. Every citizen becomes State Officer, and every quarter of the city forms a Council, composed of each inhabitant of it, which elect the General Council : the Government. Contrary to all the Communalist states, the Commune is what we can call an absolute democracy. But the Republican government want to put an end to this. They create an army, and enter in La Carrasca on the 21st of May, but they are put out by the population. On the 28th of May, the population goes out of La Carrasca, and begins to conquer the whole country. They are welcomed as heroes in every part of the country, and the aristocracy flee when they comes. On September the 26th, all the country is conquered and a new era begins in Tramunta.

Tramunta Today

Tramunta is the true example of the perfect Communalism : poverty does not exists anymore, nationalism is totally absent, and democracy and liberty are the master words of the country.

Politics

Tramunta is a multipartite republican system. Each inhabitant of a quarter (356 quarters) compose a Council, which elect the General council : the Government. Every seven years, all the citizens elish a President, to represent themselves as the head of the State.

There a five major politic parties represented in the General Council : from far left to far right :

  • Movement Comunalista de Trasmontana (Communalist Movement of Tramunta) (10 seats out of 216)
  • Progressivas Tramontananes (Tramuntan Progressives) (61 seats out of 216)
  • Partida Asunada deu Centra (United party of the Center) (85 seats out of 216)
  • Conservatòris (Conservatives) (58 seats out of 216)
  • Vertadièrs Trasmontanes (Real Tramuntans) (2 seats out of 216)

The actual leading party is the Center Party, allied with the Progressives, after thirty years of Conservative domination. Even if the name can bring confusion, the Conservatives does not claim the end of the Communalist system, but only a greater opening to liberalism. The Progressives want to renew the Communalist system, while the center consider it as fair. The Vertadièrs Trasmuntanes want to put an end to the Commune and the Communalists want to make the State as a Communalist Dictatorship, as every other Communalist country.

Religions

Tramunta is officialy a non-religious country. This can easily be explained. The King of Tramuta was a fervent Arkanist, while the majority of the population was Eternalist. When the Republic came, the Parliament decided to make Eternalism as the official religion, but the Commune decided to delete it, considering it was unfair. Moreover, the Arkanists stayed Royalists. Today, the population is majorly Atheist because religion is considered as a source of problems and conflicts and because the concept of God is no more accepted in the way of thinking (like in the National anthem, containing : “there are no great chiefs, no god, no emperor and no king, People shall save himself.”.

Culture

If Tramuntan people are warm people, they are very proud of being Tramuntan, and moreover, of speaking Tramuntan, because this language was condamned to disapear, because the King wanted to impose Aspenish as Tramunta's only language. The Tramuntan culture is based on the Paratge princip : that is to say, respect of the others, peace, … It is considered as a stupidity by the Vertadiers Trasmontanes because it is why the Commune can remain peaceful, and not become anarchy.

Considering the arts, Tramunta is a very rich country, with a great choice of music, going from the classical music to rock, through traditional songs. Literature is also very rich, on all the points of view. As censure does not exist in Tramunta, it is very usual to see artists calling to the Revolt, or criticizing the system.

International Relationships

Tramunta categorically refuses to join the ASC, to become a observer member, or even to have any commercial or diplomatical relationship with any of its member since none of them is democratic, because democracy is the base of the State, and is considered as a required element of a good Communalist country. The only relationships Tramunta wants to have is with a real democratic country.

Economy

The economy of Tramunta is very prosperous, and permit to the country to be self-sufficient. This self-sufficiency permits to the people to live very comfortably and to have a very high level of life rate. Food is distributed in function of what is available and how many people needs food. Almost every year, the production is in surplus, and the State can export it. The General Council agrees on the point that these exports are necessary to stock the maximum of money as possible, which could provide great help if the production is deficient by importing.

We can figure the following graph :

.

As time passed, the Communalist system opened itself, and the population is now able to launch a little company, as long as the State hold at least 40% of the shares of it.

Military

The Tramuntan army is only composed of a professional army : the National Guard. We can count at least 20,000 men and 13,000 women. Every Tramuntan citizen has to spend a day visiting a military camp, at the age of 18 (the age of the majority) : this goals to encourage young people to engage themselves in the Army.

Transports

Tramuntan has a really long road network, but unfortunately, it is quite poorly maintained. We can find real good roads only near big cities, and between La Carrasca and the other great cities. But Tramuntan maintains a real good railway network, permitting anyone to travel at any part of the country. To come from a foreign country, some trains can link to other contries, Tramuntan got one great international port, and the airport of La Carrasca (and of other great cities) can link to several capitals.
