Time Zones

A time zone is a region of the Aurora that has adopted the same standard time, usually referred to as the local time. Most adjacent time zones are exactly one hour apart. However, political and geographical practicalities can result in irregularly-shaped zones that follow political boundaries.

By convention, time zones compute their local time as an offset from Auroran Mean Time (AMT), which is centered on the prime meridian (0 degrees). Time zones to the west are behind AMT and the offset is a subtraction. Similarly, time zones to the east are ahead of AMT so the offset is an addition. The time zones are defined as follows:
