Sevaris Valkemi, born 7 January, 2067, was the third Chairman of the North Shurkan Union. He has a long and decorated military career in the Military of the North Shurkan Union.

Childhood and Education
Sevaris Valkemi was born to Alexandria Valkemi and Vladimir Valkemi in Turstra, Valmara on January 7, 2067. Sevaris's mother was born a serf. His father was a cobbler and owned his own shop. He was their third child; their two previous sons died in infancy.
Initially, the Valkemi's lives were prosperous and happy, but Sevaris's father became an alcoholic, which gradually led to his business failing and him becoming violently abusive to his wife and child. As their financial situation grew worse, Sevaris's family moved homes frequently; at least nine times in Sevaris's first ten years of life.
The town where Sevaris grew up was a violent and lawless place. It was a poverty stricken town with a small police force. The town wasn't a great place for Sevaris to be, it was violent place to be and included gang-warfare, organized street brawls and wrestling tournaments. Sevaris took ample part of streetfighting as a child and was beaten up on numerous occasions.
At age 7, Sevaris fell ill with smallpox.
At age 8, a group of the Queen's soldeirs came into town and was trying to recruit more soldiers for the army. There was currently a territory dispute, and was about to become a small war. When a captain was walking down the street, he saw a group of older kids picking on young Sevaris and watched him trying to defend himself. He was able to take down three of them before he was knocked on the ground and was mugged by the boys. The captain came up and offered help to him, and young Sevaristook the help. The captain watched his every move and was amazed with the boy's spirit and eventually offered young Sevaris a chance to come with him and to attend the Valcarma Elite Boy's Academy.
Sevaris's father, Vladimir Valkemi didn't want him to go to school but wanted him to become a cobbler like him.
There at the Valcarma Elite Boy's Academy, Sevaris learned how to become a succesful leader. He was top in his class and thought like a revolutionary and became the head of the schools council of Boys. Sevaris excelled in his studies, demonstrating early on a love for history and writing. He was also had a love for poetry, singing, and his favorite instrument, the cello. Today, he is famous for writing many concertos, including several written with Terje, and is also to many one of the best cello players in Aurora. During this time he gained fame as a poet; his poems were published in several local newspapers. However, his interest for poetry began to fade as he was drawn to the wars that engulfed Shurku.
After 6 years in school he met with a colonel who was watching him throughout his school years who told him he was going to attend the Queen's Royal Military Academy, to learn the arts of war and to become a officer in the army. There he became the most promising boy and showed an unnatural ability to lead and to command. In two years, his tactics and strategies were studied by officers in the field fighting in the various border disputes.
Military Service
Sevaris graduated in 2083 with his knoweldge from the military academy and joined the North Shurkan Unions's Army as an officer. He was first sent to complete basic training as a soldier and was assigned to the 7th heavy infantry division. There he spent his first five months as a Sergeant and eventually started to rise through the ranks. Valkemi was known for his some what "out there" stategies that worked brilliantly.
By age 19, Valkemi has risen through the ranks to colonel. He saw much action with regional conflicts in North Shurkan countries such as Jistuvia, Shatia, and Tajakskaia. He was a legend in soldiers' stories and was a man who fought with the men and often led the men into battle behind him. He was given many nicknames like the "Roller" and was famous for what he called tanks, "Barrels". He recieved many honors from the new Technocratic nation of Valmara and from the new and young North Shurkan Union. He personally has been injured many times, he was shot three times in the shoulder and once in the leg in the Battle of Krackun and had to be dragged from the frontlines and transported to a field hospital. There after two days he couldn't stand sitting around hearing of the casualties and left the field hospital in a wheelchair. Of coarse he wasn't allowed on the frontline but he did command large numbers of troops and "barrels".
Rise to Power
Six months after the Battle of Krackum, Sevaris Valkemi was appointed the rank of Brigadier General. For the next two years, the Union saw little action and buried himself in the studies of politics. He studied many historical writings from all over Aurora and even spent a couple months in the Great Library of Antara. During this time he married a young women named Terryn and decided to settle down and to take on the world of politics head on. He joined the Sebaev Teivan as a high ranking military officer and shared the opinions of the recently created N.S.U. United Armed Forces. He was oppionted to be one of the leading figures in the organization of the N.S.U. United Armed Forces and with this task, Valkemi performed extremely well. His work is still in use today.
On August 14, 2091 Sevaris Valkemi was chosen to be part of the Ovo Teivan and became the second Supreme Commander of the N.S.U. United Armed Forces. In the next ten years, Valkemi brought the expansion of the N.S.U. United Armed Forces and sought to unite the nations military as one enity.
Chairman of the North Shurkan Union
After Fultyr Tarevi retired and offered his seat to one of the Ovo Teivan members. In this choice, the council and the Chairman chose Sevaris Valkemi as the third Chairman of the Union. Sevaris in his position as the Chairman of the North Shurkan Union started to make many changes.
Political
Valkemi has always has had a goal of uniting and bringing the people of Shurku together. With the many conflicting ethnic groups of natives and colonizers and immigrants, there has been numerous accounts of genocide and inhumane treatment of citizens: Valkemi has always been the main leader in aid in Shurku and is a supporter of the Tarevi Doctrine.
Sevaris has put into play many laws and proposals on bringing the North Shurkan Union from being an political and economic union to more of a federation. He even proposed the concept of the "North Shurkan Federation" which is growing in popularity at an increased rate ever since he proposed it in his early stages of his Ovo Teivan career. The proposal includes combining all of the economies of the North Shurkan Union and introducing a renovation in the infrastructure of all members of the federation.
The political nature of the North Shurkan Union is moving towards becoming a federation ever since the proposal, and along with the Jistuvian Insurrection going on and with the lack of power to intervene holds many drawbacks on the ability of the government to help domestic affairs.
Economic
Ever since he was chosen to become the Chairman, Valkemi introduced the concept of self-reliance and in the growth of domestic industries and services. In the beginning of his new position of being the Chairman, he strongly supported domestic business and put tariffs on all non-Shurkan goods. In this move, North Shurkan businesses and industries developed at a rapid rate to meet the needs of the Union and allowed the North Shurkan economy to flourish. In 2109, he removed the tariffs of foreign trade and even encouraged the integration of the global economy to further the growth of the economy and in recent years the economy has sky-rocketed.
He also planned and put into play a great deal of economic plans to centralize the split economy of the North Shurkan Union. In this process, the quality of life of all citizens has leveled out and has raised considerably.
Personal Life
Appearance
Sevaris Valkemi has been described by many, as a man standing only at 5"10 with a fairly large mustache. Being mostly of Tyveric decent, in Sevaris you can see many of the typical features that define Tyverics, pale, heterchromia in the eyes, medium build, and black hair. Despite not having a physical awe around him, people have described him having an acute aura of leadership giving him a cold and calculating look and behavior to having a way with words with a friendly and welcoming behavior to him. Because of the wounds of previous wars, Sevaris's doctors still state that there are mortar fragments which hit him in the right knee, which can explain the occasional limp in Sevaris Valkemi's step.
Age is catching up with Sevaris, mostly in recent years, almost reaching 53 years. Despite what the doctors say about his health, Sevaris Valkemi looks remarkably healthy when seen by observers.
Marriages and family
Sevaris has been married to his wife Anna Buratti-Valkemi for five years. Thus far, they have no children.
