Overview
History
More than two millennia ago, Lindossë was home to the indigenous pre-Heloan Oromo civilization, which collapsed due to the cooling climate of the early first millennium. The area was overrun by proto-Heloan invaders crossing the land bridge from Danetia in the ninth and tenth centuries, and subsequently brought under Antaran rule in the eleventh century.
The territory proved expensive to administer and control, and the Antarans withdrew from most of it shortly after the end of their imperial expansion in 1303. The ensuing “heroic age” of Lindossëan history was marked by ever-changing small kingdoms and the blossoming of Heloan art and song. In this period, the Arkanist faith imported from Antara put down roots in Heloan culture.
The heroic age came to an end with the arrival of the first Persii conquerors in 1775. These conquerors brought much of Cokenia under their rule. But the external threat accomplished what centuries of cultural development had not: the political unification of the area’s kingdoms, in 1917 – the founding of modern Lindossë and two centuries later the independence of Zophos.
Ingliz colonists from Torentine established in the area around the year 2087 on the southern part of Miotus and founded the colony of New Cokeland in a territory never claimed by Lindossë or their neighbors. This groups of sailors and colonist were not part of any official entreprise from the Torentine Empire, but were a group of free people who wanted to live in freedom and create a new nation for themselves, thus this colony never was part of the Torentine Empire, while the ingliz colonist are ethnically similiar to the people of Torentine and speak Ingliz, people of South Heloan heritage that was living in today Cokenia were mostly unorganized, comparing to the neighboring Lindoseans.
After many attemps to create and found a strong colony, during the next 24 years Ingliz settlers and South Heloans will have many moments of tension, finally on the year 2111 Ingliz colonists and the Heloans living in the area decide to sign a deal and together founded the new Kingdom of Cokenia, while some South Heloans decide to move to Lindosse and Zophos the remaining established in the areas now known as the Municipalities of Margarina and Venizia. at the same time the Ingliz decided to live in the new Capital Saint George and the neighboring municipalities of Orange and Pieterzburg.
The Kingdom of Cokenia will not get their current form until the year 2116, being this date considered the official foundation of the new state, the crown was offered to a former Ingliz Commander Phillip Green and the House of Cokenberg was established.

Voting is compulsory for all Cokenians over 18 years of age.

The Kingdom of Cokenia has five provinces, each of them elects a Provincial Council that is headed by a Premier.

People and Culture
Almost all Cokenians are of Heloan ethnicity and culture, although this heritage has been influenced by the Persii, Antaran, and even Oromo periods and recently for the last ingliz colonialists.
Ethnicity
Nearly all Cokenians claim a Heloan background, although in reality this represents a genetic mix of proto-Heloan, Oromo, Antaran, Persii and recently ingliz elements. The typical Cokenian is of medium build, with brown and green eyes. Straight and wavy, brown hair all occur with regularity. Lighter colorings of skin, hair, and eyes are not uncommon in the east.
Etnically most Cokenians are basically like their neighboring Lindosseans.
Language
The official language of Cokenia is Ingliz, government buildings as well as the bureaucracy use Ingliz as the only language, Corporations and Business in Cokenia use Ingliz and Southern Heloan for their marketing mostly because 57% of the population speak this variation of Heloan at home due to strong Heloan roots in the continent, only 35% of Cokenian calls Ingliz their "mother" tongue, 8% of the people speak only Southern Heloan especially on the border towns with Lindosse.
Language by Municipalities: Ingliz: Orange, Pieterzburg and Southern part of St. George. South Heloan: Margarina and Viena and Northern part of St. George.
Education
This is a very important issue for the people of Cokenia, attending school is mandatory to all children age 4 to 16, quality in education is a priority of the government of Cokenia, although is not completely funded by the government, it is partially funded and the Minister of Education observes that all schools in the country follow the official guide lines.
Primary School
The First phase of Education in Cokenia is the Primary Education, all children from 4 to 8 must attend this level before continue to the next phase of education, in this level they get the Basic Ingliz (Writing & Reading), Basic Mathematics, Civic Education and learn how to play a musical instrument.
Secondary School
Secondary Education is the next level of Education for all children aged 8-12 in Cokenia, in this level they must learn National History, Basic Geography, Intermediate Ingliz (Grammar & Composition), Intermediate Math(Geometry), Basic Biology, Chemistry and Physical Education and every child must play a sport being the most popular futbol soccer, followed by basketball and baseball.
Vocational School
Vocational Education is the third level of Education for all young Cokenians aged 12-16, they must review all topics in an intermediate and advanced level of all subject; Advanced Ingliz (Literature), Advance Math(algebra and calculus), Intermediate Chemistry, Intermediate Physics, Intermediate Geography and World History, optional courses are Swimming, Martial Arts, Paiting and Dance.
University
University is not mandatory, so young Cokenians aged 16 and above may be enrolled in the currently two higher education institucions: The University of Cokenia at St. George (UofC) it has an undergraduate four year program and a graduate program offering 8 master degrees mostly in Social Arts and Economics, and the Orange Technological Institute (OTI), which has a two year associate degree program, a two year technical school degree program, and a four year program in ten different engineer undergraduate program.
Note: Education is not offered in South Heloan and not "foreign" language is actually teach in any Cokenian institucion, as of 2120 Heloan has replaced Ingliz as the main language of teaching at Pieterzburg and Orange Schools, thus OTI becoming the highest learning institution teaching in Heloan south of Lindosse.
Economy
Due to exceptional climate, Cokenia is a large producer of apples and oranges, vine yards and potatoe fields are very common as well, Cokenia agriculture is one of the strongest in Miotus but competition from Lindosse and Zophos which are starting to get higher techology makes Cokenia struggle with the manufacture and distribution of their products, goverment loans to introduce recent techology innovations is the priority of the current government leaded by pro-business conservatives.
Royal Bank of Cokenia
The Bank of Cokenia, although still a small financial institucion is increasing their alliance with bankers from other parts of the world especillaly from other Ingliz countries like Odessa.
