Yuan
From AuroraWiki
The yuan (pronounced "U.N.") is the legal currency of Catai. The word is used typically in both singular and plural senses. The word means, quite literally, "round" in the Kor language.
When the new paper currency was adopted in 2093, the National Mint opted to use the single most famous face in the entire Commonwealth on it—Chairman Mao's. He protested this on the basis that there was no sense in putting his face on the nation's money, but the mint officials argued that having a face as recognizable as his on it would help to ensure its originality and help protect it from couterfeit.
The yuan comes in denmominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100. There are also 500, 1000, and 5000 yuan notes, but these are restricted for state exchanges. They are printed in a variety of colors, and the seal of the Legislaturalist Association is on the upper left front.
