Wu Yi, Ph.D., born 29 January 2058, is the serving Secretary of Planning of the Catai Commonwealth. In this role, she is responsible for the vast economic and industrial planning activities of the Commonwealth, with a focus on strategic advice on country-wide socio-economic development. She also works on programs and plans designed and focused on economic management mechanisms and policies for the national economy, for specific sectors as well as for domestic and foreign investments. She is considered one of the nation's most important leaders, and is commonly called "Momma Wu" by foreign nations.
Doctor Yi is the only pre-Commonwealth official who currently holds a top post in the Government. She served as an officer in the royal treasury prior to the collapse of the Kingdom. She was arrested in 2086 for openly declaring her support for Legislaturalism. After the Commonwealth was born and she was freed from prison, Chairman Mao Enlai chose to put her skills to use, and she now holds one of the nation's top posts.
