History
- Main article: Karsos history
From 1737 to 1794 CE, KOR was a colony of the Torentine Barony of Antara. 1790 to 1794 CE, the people of KOR fought a War of Independence. At the heart of the revolution was the continued and systematic “plundering” of KOR by the Tors, the disenfranchisement of KOR landowners, seizure of private property under eminent domain pretences by landed gentry and systematic discrimination in favour of immigrant nationals.
Many believe that the Byden Farm incident started Karsos' War of Independence, Bryce Redson would later write the poem "Byden Farm" in reference to the incident. Susanne Koper would later set the poem to music and it eventually became the National Anthem.
Some 4 years later on July 2 1794 the last Imperial unit was forced onto ships waiting in Wyatt harbour by the Revolutionary Militia. The last action of the fleeing colonizers was to fire incendiary shells at the city from their ships. The city burnt to the ground. that most say started the revolution
Constitutional Documents
Karsos Sovereignty Declaration
The Inviolate Articles
The Constitution of the Karsos Objective Republic
The Objective Oath
Government
- Main article: Politics of Karsos
Executive governance in KOR is provided by the Director, assisted his Caucus.
KOR has a unicameral legislature known as the Senate .
The Judiciary is headed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court who is the chief arbitrator of justice in KOR and chairs the Supreme Court Panel, which consists of four Adjunct Justices of the Supreme Court. Below the Supreme Court are the all civil, criminal and appellate courts.
The State is strongly stockistic and its government is severely limited by the The Inviolate Articles (TIA) of the constitution. The TIA limit government power to National Defence, the provision of Police Services, Courts and the Rule of Law.
The Director holds veto power in the Senate and can appoint members of his caucus from either the Senate or from the private sector.
Geography and Climate
- Main article: Geography and climate of Karsos
Karsos is comprised of semi-arid Savanna in the north, tropical shrub lands in the central region, and Tropical deciduous forest in the south. The largest river in the country is the Pol. The interior is hilly but there are no significant mountain ranges. Temperatures range between 32c and 20c.
Economy
- Main article: Economy of Karsos
Since its inception, the KOR has practised complete laissez-faire Stockism. Any possibility of government oversight or interference in the market is prohibited by the Karsos Constitution. The economy continues to grow and offers more opportunity than a managed economic structure due to the reliance on private sector provision of almost all services. The KOR philosophical obsession with productive work ensures high quality products and services in a hyper competitive marketplace.
Demographics
Karsosians are fair skinned with hair running the gamut from dark brown to red and blond. Eyes range from brown to blue and green. The men tend to be average to tall in height with a medium-heavy to wiry build. Women are slightly shorter and generally have more delicate features.
Culture and Society
- Main article: Karsosian culture
Though claiming individual ‘sense of life’, as the focus of KOR society, might seem to be an oxymoron it is never the less the ideal which governed the writing of the KOR Constitution and the purpose behind the inclusion of the TIA of that document.
Karsosians are self disciplined individualists. The philosophical ideals of altruism and self-sacrifice are replaced in KOR society by moral self-interest and the application of reason. They have a fierce love for and devotion to freedom as alluded to by the national motto “Live Free or Die”. It is often said that this dedication to liberty is longer, deeper and stronger than love of the nation itself, but this is perhaps incorrect, as most Karsosians see in the State the perfect expression of their political ideal.
Karsosian art tends to be realistic, powerful and dramatic. Character portraits, paintings and sculpture, tend to convey strength of purpose, individual achievement and triumph as illustrated by masculine strength and feminine elegance. Most non-human subjects are modernistic, and it is the only society where works depicting the natural world come second to those depicting man's industrial and urban creations.
KOR is a completely equal society. Men and women share the same stature in business and all other forms of work. There is a tacit acknowledgement of men as the dominant player within personal romantic relationships but that generality does not extend beyond those individual relationships.
There are two national holidays on the Karsosian calendar, Independence Day held on July 2 and Reasons Harvest which is celebrated on the first Monday in November.
Education
- Main article: Education in Karsos
Education in KOR is very rigorous. It runs from grade 1 through to grade 12 or 13, grade 13 being a prep year for University, and is designed to prepare young Karsosians for their future, and the productive work that Objective philosophy teaches is their purpose. Some of the best Business Universities are located in KOR although they have been criticized by foreigners for not training students in the modern liberal moral code.
Religion
- Main article: Religion in Karsos
Being founded on Objective principal, KOR is by in large an atheist state. There is no state religion, indeed there is no mention of any theology in any KOR law, or document. Religious freedom is implicitly guaranteed and protected by the constitution under the right to liberty.
Justice
- Main article: Justice in Karsos
The KOR legal and judicial system are fair and balanced with all the normal rules of jurisprudence and burden of proof that you would find in any similarly advanced nation. The dedication to personal freedom and the overarching limitations placed on the KOR government by the TIA of the constitution mean that the scope of law is limited in KOR. This limited legal system allows for the rational allocation of resources toward real crimes in KOR where in other nations police and judicial services are distracted by ‘state contrived crime’.
Design & Architecture
The dominant Karsosian architectural and design style is called Art-moderne.

Fashion
Fashion is an individual choice in KOR but typical business attire is a 2 or 3 piece suit for both men and women. Trades people and regular office staff are somewhat more relaxed in appearance but most usually wear a shirt and tie even if coveralls or a employer issued coat or similar garment is worn on top.
Karsos Lexicon

The Karsos Lexicon is provided for those unfamiliar with Objective definitions and concepts.
Military
- Main article: Karsos military
Provision for and management of the military defence of Karsos is one of the three responsibilities of the government.
The Karsos Armed Forces consists of the a permanently serving voluntary force equipped, trained and organized to defend the nation against hostile attack, and the Karsos Reserve, a supplementary force of retired, released Karsos Armed forces personnel and part time service personnel.
Mobilization of a Karsos Expeditionary Force to engage an enemy outside of the republic must be voted upon in a referendum requiring a majority of 75% to pass. Any such mobilization would be entirely reliant on volunteers who would be recruited under different terms of service than regular Militia members.
Foreign Relations
- Main article: Foreign relations of Karsos
KOR does not establish permanent military alliances with any block, alliance or trade consortium. Karsos embassies and consulates exist to promote laissez-faire market principals and attempt to build free trade in the nations in which they are located. The secondary duty of the Embassy/Consular staff is to assist Karsosians traveling and living abroad should they experience problems. KOR wishes to establish such offices in all nations.
