The Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to promote peace and stability in Miotus, maintain active relations with all non-hostile Auroran nations, and encourage the adoption of Lindossëan political principles such as the rule of law, constitutional government with democratic representation, and the respect of fundamental human rights and freedoms.
Trade
Lindossë regards trade with foreigners aa a logical extension of the domestic property rights of Lindossëans. Just as Lindossëan citizens are free to trade with whomever they wish within the country, so too are they free to trade with those outside the country. Therefore the government tries to maintain free and open trading relationships with friendly nations, and only levies a light tariff on trade.
There is one major exception to this rule, however, which is that the government discourages (through heavy tariffs) or outright bans trade in foreign goods produced using coerced labour or forcibly confiscated capital. In the eyes of most Lindossëans, the statist economic systems of Communalist countries involve both coerced labour and confiscated capital, so in practice this prohibition applies mainly to goods produced within Communalist regimes.
Antara
Aurora's preeminent superpower was once a colonizer of southern Miotus, although that is a distant memory. Still, Lindossëans feel a certain connection to Antara due to their shared history, traditional friendship, and related religions (the Ecclesiarchy and Keleuthism).
Lindossë is wary of Antara's overwhelming political, economic and military power, and regards the concentration of that power in the secretive Adamantine Order and the person of the Praetor as a dangerous combination. On the other hand, the Lindossëan government is also aware of the demonstrated restraint of the Antarans in their relations with other nations and is happy to enjoy a friendly relationship with Antara so long as that restraint continues.
Antara is also one of Lindossë's largest trading partners. Lindossëan rubber, lumber, and agricultural products are among the raw materials that ship west across the Topal Sea, along with the products of Lindossë's woodworking industry such as finely crafted furniture. Antaran steel and specialized heavy machinery like locomotives, hydroelectric generators, and heavy arms are the major products shipped east across the Topal Sea.

Karsos
While Lindossë does not share the underlying Objectivist philosophy of the Karsos Objective Republic, the two states do share a commitment to civil liberties, limited government, and economic freedom -- a rare set of principles in Miotus and southern Danetia.
The trading relationship between Karsos and Lindossë is also important, particularly since Karsos is the major gateway to the Abecean Ocean for Lindossëan merchants.
Thus, due to the geostrategic and economic importance of Karsos and the shared principles of the two countries, Lindossë seeks to maintain a strong and friendly relationship with the Objective Republic.

Norya
The government of Lindossë regards the Kingdom of Norya as an important like-minded state on the Danetian continent. Both countries are constitutional monarchies deeply committed to civil liberties and democratic government, although the role of the monarch differs somewhat between the two countries in that the Lindossëan constitution allows a slightly larger role to Spirios I than the Noryan constitution does to Henrik II.
Lindossëan policy towards Norya aims to build close and amicable diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

Sam'thuma
Despite cultural, linguistic, political, and ethnic differences, Lindossëans have a certain affinity for Sam'thuma (and not just its excellent tea). Although the politics of Sam'thuma are more monarchical than those of Lindossë, the political cultures of the two countries are both centred around deeply engraved respect for basic human freedoms.
The government has always pursued warm relations with its neighbour across the Topal Sea. In particular, since his ascension in 2094 King Spirios has cultivated friendships with the reigning Sam'thuman monarch (first Nam Gomoruphtar Vrandesh, then Nam Phosphet Ansamprutisa, and now the young heir presumptive Prince Nam Bandet Sandithaputivar).
In recent years it has also not been uncommon for Sam'thuman nobility to send their sons to study at Lindossë's renowned universities. In a few cases kept out of the public eye, distinguished families have been rather embarrassed to have their sons return as Keleuthists. Not that local influence is all that is at work - the second son of Keleuthist Sam'thuman Prince Parantapa Lykaios Andanikethupret returned home with a medical degree and an Agamite faith, picked up from a group of Nathaian students.
Cross-Topal trade has a history going back hundreds of years. In modern times it has blossomed since the reign of Nam Phosphet, who encouraged foreign trade and investment. Lindossëan merchants participate heavily in the former and are beginning to explore the latter as well. Lindossëans' famous tea-drinking habit is made possible by trade with Sam'thuma, and imports of Sam'thuman iron help keep Lindossëan industry running. Sam'thuma's iron deposits being underdeveloped, Lindossëan manufacturers have been investing in mining and transport enterprises there - welcomed by Sam'thumans as a counterweight to the always-present Antaran financing. Going the other way, Lindossë's agricultural sector exports various foodstuffs and rubber to Sam'thuma, and there is a small but healthy trade in Lindossëan furniture and light manufactures.
