The Union of the Free Republics of Vamar is a Parliamentary Constitutional Republic on the southern part of the Kwasina continent. It is bordered by Mordeskai to the east, Pistrix to the north, Sarawak to the northwest, and Toreoscese Kwasina to the west. The capital of Vamar is Fariten.

Vamar consists of 8 states and one semi-autonomous republic and the autonomous republic of HminnJord, which is now preparing to acquire full status as a sovereign nation. Each State is governed through a federal parliament system that has ran Vamar for the past 121 years. Vamar officialy is a constitutional federal parliamentary republic.

Culture

The Culture of Vamar is typically perceived as egalitarian, simple, and open to international influences. Vamar never had serfdom and peasant smallholders traditionally had a greater say in the nation's affairs than in virtually any other Kwasinian country. Vamar is full with rich folklore and ancient legends.

The educational system in Vamar is based on a nine year primary school, or "Grundskola" with mandatory attendance. Following this comes an elective three year secondary school, or "Gymnasieskola" which is divided in two instances where you either prepare for higher education or receive vocational education. The preparatory instance allows for specialization in either natural sciences or social sciences. After school, students usually get an undergraduate education or an Postgraduate education at universities.

Education in Vamar is free from the beginning of pre-school to the end of secondary school and it is all part of the social system and is paid through taxes. Even though the public education in Vamar is magnificent with a literacy rate of 97.98%, students do sometimes attend private education institutions which account for 6% of all education institutions.

The Arts

Art has a long history with the people of Vamar, first showing up through oral tales past down from generation to generation and ancient runes. The most important part of Vamar's cultural history is the Modernization of Vamar from 1,000 CE to 1,200 CE , where Vamarian arts flourished across the Enpire. During this period, Vamar started to look outside its borders to the great powers of the time, the Teuvian Empire and the Empire of Knabia.

Since 1482, Vamar has seen a gradual increase in artistry among citizens of Vamar. But in 1535, there has been a surge in arts fueled by the Cultural Renaissance of Riechstadt opened up by the Riechstadtan-Vamarian Alliance. Multiple Art Universities have opened in the last decade including the Solstinian Academy of the Fine Arts(SAFA) which opened in 1536.

Architecture in Vamar is world known for its unique design and great variety.Vamarian Architecture is defined by the freedom of design and the green designs of the structures. Vamar is home to some of the greatest architects in the world like Peder Hiskal, who designed the world famous Solstine Opera House and Carl Deter who designed the Solstine Museum of Science and Industries (NMSI). Solstine is consitered along with Fariten and Moth as the "Cities of Architecture" in Vamar including many different architectural designs and theories. They all have rich amounts of museums, landmarks, and world famous architectural wonders.

With the exposure of Riechstadt art and designs, 'Modern Reichstadtan Art' has been finding a place among the glass cities of Solstine, Moth, and Fariten. An example is the Riechstadtan University in Solstine, which is home to many students studying various studies.

Vamarians are also one of the greatest consumers of newspapers in Scandia, and nearly every town is served by a local paper. The most notable newspaper is the Solstine Times owned by Regan Bolsten. Vamar also has a great number of radio stations and TV stations. Over 95% of the country own a Television set.

Vamarian cinema is one of the most widely-known national cinemas in the world, and during the begining of the 16th century was the most prominent of Kwasina. This is largely due to the popularity and prominence of the directors Victor Bergman, Haskill Shegal, and more recently Lasse Lakstrom and Kimber Moltson.

Vamarian films, and southern Kwasinian films in general, are known for stark landscapes and slow to fast pacing. The playwright August Limberson has dominated much of the filmmaking in Vamar, largely because of the close ties there between the film industry and the live theater industry.

Most of Vamar has a temperate climate, which is caused by the Mbalan sea currents that keep Vamar pretty warm through out the year. Vamar's summers are usually warm and moist, but further you go in the Kwasinian continent it gets drier and warmer. Vamar's winters are not very harsh but does recieve heavy snowfall.

Vamar is a federal parlimentary republic made up of 8 city-states all with their own senate, which the citizens of that state elect by popular vote. The head of the government is the Prime Minister. The government of Vamar is currently is being reformed.

Executive

The Prime Minister is elected for a four year term, by popular vote of the citizens. He is also head of state and the head of the executive branch.The current Prime Minister is Richter Verdan. The executive branch is made up by the Prime Minister and his Council of Ministers. They have the power to approve laws and use executive power.

Legislative

The Legislative branch is made up mostly by the Parliament of Vamar or formally known as the Grand National Assembly of Vamar. The parliament consists of 560 members who are elected for their district they represent. They make up the laws of the land. Each state elects 70 members to the National Assembely of Vamar to represent the Vamarian citizens. They are elected every 6 years and can run for more than one time. Recently the Parliament has been expanded to give the people more power.

The Union of the Free Republics of Vamar is a federal union of eight states and one semi-autonomous Republic. Because of this shared sovereignty, a Vamarian is a citizen both of the federal entity and of his or her state of domicile. However, state citizenship is very flexible, and no government approval is required to move between states (with the exception of convicts on parole).

Economy

Vamar is based around a free market system and rarely gets involved with in private business of the people of Vamar. One of Vamar's main focus is reserch and development.

The economy of Vamar is based around agriculture and industry. Vamar's economy is an economy based around manufacturing automobiles, hi-tech electronics, aerospace, and other industries. Shipping and fishing are also a major part of the economy of Vamar. Moth Industries is the leading corporation in Vamar and contributes a lot to the economy of Vamar.

The main product of Vamar's economy is petroleum and is one of the leading exporters of petroleum in the world, with daily production of oil is around 10,234,000 bbl/d. Vamar is also is a country that is exploring "Green" alternatives to energy production. Currently, renewable sorces of energy ,wind, solar, and other sorces contribute about 18% of all energy produced in Vamar.

Space Program

VASA is an agency of the UFR of Vamar, and is responsible for nation's public space program. VASA was established on June 15, 1498, at the dawn of the Space Race, by the Vamar Air and Space Act. VASA is currently is cooperating with KASA in making the Wextik Space Station and the new Space Shuttle.

Vamar conducts its relations with an eye toward making the most favorable business and trading envirnoment possible. With that said, Vamar tries to hold relations with as many nations as possible, and will seek to promote free trade and cooperation between other nations.
