The UC economy has been building steadily since the Liberation, Agriculture (sheep farming) and the fisheries have been replaced by the Manufacturing sector as the Cadenas largest employers. Much of the goods manufactured are made for the defense industry
There is a budding international economy in the UC today and the emergence of the UC onto the world Diplomatic scene will only improve on this.
The reigon sits on an oil reserve which according to a 1504 report by the Una Nacion Minister of Energy and Mines could produce up to 500,000 barrels of crude oil per day. This industry is building with the help of international partners and could employs directly or indirectly almost 1 person in every 3.
Environmental issues are at the forefront of peoples concerns to this end the UC is exploring "green" alternatives to energy production. Ovento Cadena has the Cadenas first wind farm which is producing a surplus.
In addition to this the Islands sit on abundant hydrothermal and geothermal energy reserves, alluminium and ferrosilicon deposits.
