Unionist Granger
From Scandia
Unionism is not the seeking of some sort of uniformity or supposed fairness. There is an element of "union" as in "togetherness" though. It is the political movement born of organized labor. The Grangers are those Unionists whose work is the soil, what grows in it, or upon it. Farmers, ranchers, agricultural suppliers and sellers.
Granger Unionists tend toward populism and conservative economics and morality. Any group of people used to rising before dawn and working hard until after sunset has plenty of aptitude for organization, just may lack the time. Granger leaders thus tend to be Exfarmers. Young candidates for Unionist Granger office are looked upon with suspicion, unless they have visible reason not to be working for a living. Deride these old wrinkled men and cripples on crutches at your peril, if you plan on opposing them.
Compare with Trade Unionists.
