Telekom AG is the national telecommunications service in Schwerdt. Although the system has been in existence since 1397, the company was formed in 1512 when the government privatized the service.

Initially formed to install, operate, and maintain the fixed national telephony system, Telekom stays at the leading edge of communications technology.
