Johan de Zwart was born 26 September 1495 in Drievalk. He is one of the two Stadhouders of the Republiek Kassaten and the political leader of the Liberal Party.

De Zwart has been the Thesaurian of the Kassatic Treasury during the third Biesterveldt - Pileus cabinet. Before this occupation he has been working for several years at the Kassatic Central Bank. After Reigwart Pileus gave up the Liberal Party leadership towards the end of his third term as Stadhouder De Zwart became the new party leader.

De Zwart has university degrees in both Economics and Law from the Desiderius University Kotterdam.
