Decius Curtius was the last ruling Patriarch of Valania. He was elected to the control of a realm that had begun to crumble under his predecessor. After one year, his authoritarian policies and harsh laws (notably the violent repression of the Reluriaa Rebellion) made him hated. When he was captured by rebels, none lifted a finger to help him save for his consul, Mattius Luca, and as a result he was brutally murdered, thus beginning the Valanian Civil War which led to the fall of the theocratic government.
