Across the universe

From Scandia

Across the Universe is a popular song that became famous after being performed by Anja Rupel. It is also the national anthem of the Principality of Rahó that was adopted in place of the old provincial anthem following the dissolution of Vladevania in 1520. There was a general sentiment that a newly restored statehood should have a new national anthem rather than restoring the anthem from the ante Vladevanian era.

When voting for a new anthem took place, choice was given to "Across the Universe," since the song was already viewed by the majority of population as the state symbol. In the end it was decided that the second and the third stanzas would be adopted for the official anthem text.

The anthem is often performed at the festivities by various bands although Rupel's version remains at the top of the charts.
