The AV-36 assault rifle is the standard infantry weapon used by the Valanian Army. It is a recent design, with much use of plastics in the gun's design in order to reduce the weapon's weight.
Like all Valanian military hardware it is highly versatile, and can be fitted with a tactical light, laser sight, telescopic sight, suppressor, and grenade launcher. The weapon is only used for service in Valania. Although heavy penalties are given for its sale or export, such restrictions are in fact unnecessary as the weapon's 7.62x39mm cartridge size is rarely used outside Valania.
